COURSE DESCRIPTION

PRINCE2 Foundation Express training is a course dedicated to people who want to acquire the required knowledge and prepare for the certification exam in an accelerated mode within 16 hours – 2 days.

The PRINCE2® Foundation training allows you to learn and understand the methodology at a basic level. The two-day training is conducted in the form of a lecture and practical exercises based on an extensive case study. The training ends with a certification exam. If a positive result is obtained, the participant receives the international PRINCE2®Foundation certificate.

The PRINCE2® project management methodology was created in Great Britain in 1989. Today, it is a widely recognized and recommended standard in EU countries, implemented, among others, by: in NATO command structures. Project management in accordance with PRINCE2® facilitates its implementation, relieves the top management staff of the organization from the ongoing management of the project, while ensuring effective supervision over its implementation and increases the chances of bringing the project to the planned end on time, within the budget, to the full extent and meeting specific quality requirements. Also, in the event of unexpected difficulties that undermine the advisability of further project implementation, thanks to PRINCE2® you can reduce the losses associated with the need to interrupt the project.

The PRINCE2® Foundation training is a comprehensive and interactive introduction to the PRINCE2 methodology. You will learn how to work in a project environment, plan projects and manage change, and you will be able to identify risks.

COURSE AGENDA

The topics that will be discussed during the training are:

a comprehensive review of the methodology and placing it in the context of the environment, which may be directly an organization or a programmme managed in accordance with the MSP® Program Management methodology,
principles of the methodology that enable it to be flexiblely adapted to virtually any environment and used depending on the requirements of the organization in which the project is implemented and the scope and risk of the project itself,
a detailed review of all elements of the methodology creating a coherent management system for a unique project: principles, themes, processes and project environment.

The topics presented during the training are supported by independent and group exercises, covering four integrated elements of the methodology:

Principles – the guiding principles and good practices defining whether the project is actually managed using the PRINCE2® methodology. Each of the seven principles will be presented and discussed in detail, also from the point of view of their mutual dependencies and influence. Their combined use enables conscious project management that minimizes the risk of failure
Themes – they describe aspects of project management that should be addressed continuously and in parallel throughout the project. Seven topics explain what specific practice PRINCE2® requires for different areas of project management and why it is necessary. PRINCE2® methodology topics create a coherent context through which the methodology processes are observed
Processes – They describe step by step activities undertaken throughout the project life cycle, from the project idea, through the controlled development of its definition prior to implementation, to controlled completion and evaluation settlement. Each process provides checklists of recommended activities, management products, and associated responsibilities
Project environment – referring the methodology to the context in which the project is implemented is the key to flexible tailoring of the project management method to the business environment, its business requirements and risks.

The date and time of the exam are set individually by the participant from those available on the Certifying Authority’s platform – PeopleCert

PRINCE2® Foundation examination

EXAMINATION

Online test exam, consisting of 60 questions
To obtain a positive exam result, 55% of correct answers are required
Exam duration: 60 min
No materials may be used during the exam
The participant who has obtained the required number of points will receive an international PRINCE2 Foundation certificate issued by Axelos in electronic form;
The PRINCE2® Foundation certificate is valid for 3 years
It is possible to purchase a paper certificate (for an additional fee).

CERTIFICATION

In accordance with the requirements of the Certifying Institution – PeopleCert – for training, you must purchase an examination kit including:

Exam voucher
Online Proctoring exam with an examiner on the platform
Official e-Book manual in Polish “PRINCE2 – Effective Project Management 2017”
Training materials published by PeopleCert in English in electronic version
E-Certificate.

Each training participant will receive a voucher for the online exam. The voucher is valid for 12 months. After completing the course, the participant will receive guidelines for online exams conducted on the Accreditor’s platform – PeopleCert: “Step-by-step guide on how to take an online exam”. The online exam is conducted in the presence of an examiner – a proctor, i.e. a person from PeopleCert, who remotely connects to the student’s desktop and observes the exam via a webcam. Additionally, the proctor’s task is to verify the identity of the examinee, check the room for other people and teaching aids.

TAKE2 RE-SIT EXAM

When registering for the training, you can purchase a repetition of the Foundation exam. If you fail the exam, Take2 re-sit exam gives you the opportunity to retake it within 6 months from the first date. Take2 re-sit exam can be purchased only before the first exam date and is available online.

RECOMMENDED TRAINING PATH

PRINCE2® is a key standard for project management. It is worth for people who are responsible for projects at the strategic level to acquire knowledge in the field of MSP® (Managing Successful Programmes), MoP® (Management of Portfolio), M_o_R® (Management of Risk) and P3O® (Portfolio, Program and Project Offices). Project managers should be particularly interested in the M_o_R® risk management standard, which is fully referenced in the PRINCE2® methodology.
